Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is a football club originating from Tottenham, an area located in the north London area. They are also known as the Spurs, The Spurs and Tottenham, while their fans give them the name the Lilywhites because of their traditional white jersey.

Founded in 1882, Tottenham won the FA Cup for the first time in 1901, and are the only non-League club to win the FA Cup, since the formation of The Football League. In the 1960-61 season, Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to win the League and FA Cup double. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, Tottenham became the first English club to win the UEFA club competition by winning the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1963. Their third FA Cup was in the 1960s, won in 1967.

The club is headquartered at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The club's motto is Audere est Facere which is Latin which is often translated into English as "To Dare is To Do". Spurs have a fairly old feud with the city club, Arsenal, and the match between Spurs and Arsenal is known as the North London Derby.
